ABILITY LEVEL
AGE DIVISION
NOVICE – contestant or group consisting of at least 50% who have not completed three years of dance training and have never competed in the discipline.
PRE-COMPETITIVE – contestant or group consisting of dancers who train 3 hours or less per week (total for all disciplines). Any group competing at this level must be 75% pre-competitive.
COMPETITIVE – dancers who train more than 3 hours per week (total for all disciplines).
Mini (4, 5, 6, 7) Junior ( 8, 9, 10, 11) Intermediate (12, 13, 14, 15) Senior (16, 17, 18, 19) Adult (20, 21, +)
The average age determines the age division for the duet/trio or group. An average of 0.5 or more is entered into the next age division. The age of the dancer is based on age on the first day of 2010. Names and birth dates for all contestants must appear on entry forms. Contestants will be responsible for producing proof of age and amateur status upon request at each meet.
Competitors may not compete against themselves in the same category. If a dancer has more than one routine in the same category, they must enter into an Open Category or move one age level up.
